How much does care at JosephCareRX cost?

Costs depend on your insurance coverage and the services you choose. We are committed to clear, upfront pricing with no hidden fees.

For medication, there is an additional cost for branded (not compounded) medication, starting at $299/month for Zepbound (Tirzepatide) and $199/month for Wegovy (Semaglutide). You won’t find a lower price for the real version. If covered by insurance, the medication cost would be much lower.

What if JosephCareRX is in-network with my insurance?

If we are in-network with your insurance plan, insurance covers the cost of office visits. Your coverage may still include:

• A specialist co-pay
• Co-insurance
• Or costs applied toward your deductible

Please refer to your insurance card for your specialist co-pay.

Is there a booking fee?

Yes. All patients pay a one-time $35 booking fee.

Why this fee exists:
The booking fee is an administrative charge, not a medical service and not billed to insurance. It supports appointment scheduling and care coordination, including:

• Secure access to our patient portal and electronic health record
• Completion of pre-visit questionnaires, including validated clinical assessments
• Care preparation activities such as chart review and, when appropriate, advance lab ordering

This structure helps ensure appointment availability while allowing us to keep physician-led obesity care affordable and accessible.

What is the self-pay price for physician visits?

Self-pay patients pay only as they move through care:

• $99 – Initial physician visit
• $65 – Follow-up visit to review results and treatment options

The two physician visits total $164.
The booking fee is separate from clinical care and applies to all patients.

Is there a monthly fee?

After the first month, patients may choose to enroll in an optional membership:

• $140 per month

This includes follow-up visits, insurance concierge support, and access to member-only tools and resources.
There is no obligation to continue.

Are body composition scans included?

Yes. All in-person patients receive free SECA body composition scans, a service often billed separately at other clinics.

How does your pricing compare to other clinics?

JosephCareRX provides physician-directed, evidence-based obesity care at lower and more transparent prices than many competitors—without sacrificing quality, access, or clinical expertise.

Do I have to stay on weight loss medication forever?

Obesity is recognized as a chronic, relapsing disease. Just like other chronic conditions, treatment often needs to be ongoing. GLP-1 and other weight loss medications help regulate appetite and reduce cravings, making it easier to maintain healthy habits. When medication is stopped, old appetite signals often return—along with weight regain. Our goal is to help you create sustainable lifestyle changes sometimes with the support of medication as long as it’s helpful for you.

How much weight can I expect to lose?

Results vary, but large clinical trials show meaningful, sustainable outcomes:

• Wegovy® (semaglutide) – In the STEP trials, participants lost an average of ~15% of their body weight over 68 weeks, when combined with lifestyle changes.
• Zepbound™ (tirzepatide) – In the SURMOUNT-1 trial, participants lost an average of ~21% of their body weight over 72 weeks, when combined with lifestyle changes.
• With any method, our patients lose an average of 15% weight loss in 6 months. We aim to keep muscle mass.
• We’ll personalize your plan so that your progress is realistic, healthy, and sustainable.

Can I lose weight without medications?

Absolutely. Many of our patients choose a medication-free path. At JosephCareRX, we offer structured lifestyle support in nutrition, activity, and behavior change. We use motivational interviewing to help you identify your strengths and create a plan you can maintain for the long term.

Do you prescribe Adipex®/Phentermine? How much does it cost?

Yes. Generic phentermine can start as low as $15/month depending on your pharmacy, and may cost even less if covered by insurance

What if my insurance doesn’t cover GLP-1 medications?

You still have options:

• Several FDA-approved, older weight loss medications may be covered by insurance or available at very low cash prices.
• Sometimes these are a better fit depending on your health history and weight loss goals.
• We also offer cash-pay pricing for certain treatments when insurance is not an option.

My insurance covers Ozempic® or Mounjaro®. Can I get it for weight loss?

Ozempic® (semaglutide) and Mounjaro® (tirzepatide) are FDA-approved for Type 2 diabetes, not weight loss. Insurance typically only covers them if you have a qualifying diabetes diagnosis. If your goal is weight loss, we’ll work with you to find covered alternatives or other safe, effective options

What makes JosephCareRX different from other weight loss clinics?

We take a personalized, evidence-based approach:

• We use your insurance whenever possible—helping you access covered medications.
• We do not use compounded weight loss injections, which are unregulated, illegal in many states, and carry safety risks.
• Care is led by an ABOM-certified obesity medicine specialist, trained to guide you through every stage of your journey.
• Every patient receives a personalized weight report to track progress.
• We offer body composition monitoring, so you can see fat loss, muscle preservation, and other key changes—not just the number on the scale.

Your success is our mission, and we combine medical expertise with compassionate, ongoing support.
